Billing & Usage
ModelBridge uses a subscription + usage model. Your plan includes a monthly usage allowance, and you can top up with prepaid credits or enable overage billing.

All plans include access to every available model. The plan determines your included usage allowance and support tier.
How billing works
ModelBridge uses a multi-source wallet system. When a request is made, the cost is deducted in this order:
- Plan included balance -- Monthly usage allowance from your subscription
- Prepaid balance -- Credits purchased via top-ups
- Overage -- If enabled, charges beyond your prepaid balance (up to your overage limit)
Per-request pricing
Each request's cost is calculated based on:
- Input tokens -- Tokens in your messages/prompt
- Output tokens -- Tokens in the model's response
- Cache tokens -- Read and write tokens for prompt caching (if supported by the model)
- Model pricing -- Each model has its own per-token rates
Costs are calculated to 6 decimal places for precision.
Balance management
Top-ups
Add prepaid credits from the Billing page. Top-up credits don't expire and carry over between billing periods.
Overage
By default, requests stop working when your balance runs out. To prevent interruptions:
- Go to Billing in your dashboard
- Enable overage billing
- Set an overage limit (maximum amount charged beyond your prepaid balance)
Overage charges are billed at the end of the billing period.
Spending limits
Set a personal spending limit to cap your total usage regardless of available balance. This is a safety net to prevent unexpected costs.
Usage tracking
The ModelBridge dashboard provides detailed usage analytics:
- Per-request logs -- Model, tokens, cost, and timestamp for every request
- Daily/weekly/monthly charts -- Visualize your usage over time
- Per-key breakdown -- See which API key is costing the most
- Per-model breakdown -- Understand which models you use most
- Team usage -- See per-member usage within a team
Discounts
Some accounts and teams have a discount percentage applied to all usage. Discounts reduce the per-token cost of each request. Check your billing settings or contact support to learn about available discounts.
Gifting
ModelBridge supports balance gifting -- you can send credits to other users:
- Direct gifts -- Send credits to a user by email
- Gift links -- Generate a link that anyone can claim
- Escrowed gifts -- Credits held until the recipient accepts
Gift credits are added to the recipient's prepaid balance.
